The Daily Telegraph reports, that employers across the country are preparing to slash pay for home workers. One in ten companies plan on reducing pay or benefits for employees who work from home.
I am just hoping for everyone this is a media headline to hype a reaction. However its seems we are operating in a space of conflict and not harmony between the power of employers and employees which isn’t good for anyone. The fulcrum used to be tipped entirely towards employers and now to employees. I think we need to rebalance the relationship after all both parties want the same outcomes.
Employers – Productive, focused adults who take responsibility to deliver, enjoy their work and continually grow.
Employee – To be treated like an adult, to be able to deliver, be productive, enjoy their work and be supported to grow.
Yet the great awakening has lead to so many people waking up and leaving work, because they aren’t enjoying work. In so few cases is the financial! Its down to the relationship, value and trust received and given.
So many businesses think they have nailed the hybrid working challenge, they haven’t it’s only just starting.
We have to create irresistible organisations where people want to work, stay and be productive. When you give people a good reason to want to come in to work, they will.
We need to rethink what we do and how as Einstein said “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results”
